My name is Sophie Koerner and I’m a Recognised Postnatal Doula.
I’m from Australia but have been living in London for the past 8 years.
I followed my amazing job as a nanny, half way around the world to London where I completed my Doula course
with the wonderful Kicki Hansard at the Birth Bliss Academy.
I've recently moved back to South Australia with my partner and we are starting our new lives here!
I’ve been working as a nanny for over 12 years now in many different countries including Australia, Canada, America, England and Dubai.
I’ve cared for all ages from newborns to 14 years old. I’ve always had such a passion for caring for children, and when I moved
to England and learnt about the amazing role as a ‘Doula’ I knew instantly this was for me.
I spent years concentrating all my love and support on children, but what about their parents?
I’m excited to help you with your new amazing chapter of life as a parent.
I want to offer help and tips, be an extra pair of hands, and offer a shoulder to lean on.
As a Postnatal Doula I’m simply a friend who is there to listen and not judge.
I want to offer my time to have a cup of tea and a chat, keep the fridge stocked, make a nice meal,
do a load of washing or just cuddle your baby while you have a shower or take a nap.
I’m there to offer tips and support with infant feeding, signposting, creating a basic routine
and helping you transition into your new family life.

What is a doula?
A Doula is a support person for a mother, her new born baby/babies and family.
Postnatal Doulas are able to help make the first stage of your baby's life less daunting,
offering emotional, physical and practical support in the comfort of your own home.
Although most Doulas have a certain amount of training, we are not medically trained.
We are there to support decisions, make suggestions and signpost.
